I’ve mentioned that I want to blog about my experiences trying to lose some weight. In addition, I’d also like to chronicle my attempt at redefining, redesigning, and refining my financial situation. I have two goals I am starting to work on TODAY.
Goal #1: In October, I will be due for my next annual doctor’s appointment. At last year’s appointment, I was devastated to learn how much weight I had gained since taking my desk job. To prevent that humiliation and shame again, I’ve set a goal to lose 20 lbs before my appointment. I’m not setting the bar too high seeing as I have four months to accomplish this goal.
Goal #2: Completely dissatisfied with job, I know there is only one alternative - finish college. Currently, I owe my school $1700 before I will be able to enroll in new classes. Trying to accomplish this feat by September isn’t feasible with my meager salary so I’m setting my goal for January 2008. That gives me 6 months to save, cut my spending, and pay off the owed tuition.
These are the two most nagging things on my life’s To-Do-List. I’m anticipating that this blog will serve as the motivation to stick it out when I get annoyed, tired, lazy and bored with my transformation. It begins today.

It happens to a lot of people - you get your very first desk job. Little did you know, with that cushy desk comes an added “bonus” - flab. I never realized how quickly I would gain weight just by quitting my menial waitress job.
With this site, I hope to chart my progress from the depths of chubbiness and get back to my old, so-not-lazy self.
