This week, I joined Gymniee.com and although it’s only in Beta, it seems to be promising. It focuses on the exercise aspect of weight loss therefore it lacks a calorie counter. I’ll just have to look for one of those elsewhere.

I’m also considering a new design for this site to help keep me involved. I’m not too thrilled with this current one. We’ll see.

I seemed to have drop a couple pounds since last week. Although I didn’t do much by means of physical activity, I did NOT stuff my face with fried crap at work. I opted for unhealthy salads, but salads nonetheless.

I had a huge dinner last night but walked over two miles afterwards. So I guess it evens out? Probably not but at least I moved slightly.

I was very bad this week. While at work Monday thru Wednesday, I had nothing but onion rings and french fries for lunch. I also probably ate four cheeseburgers this week. You’d think that buying the scale last weekend would inspire me to actually do something, but if anything, I went in reverse. I haven’t eaten this much junk in a long time. After last week’s swimming, I haven’t done anything physical, not even sex.

So, it should come as no surprise that for my weigh-in, I gained a few pounds.

Week 2 Weigh-in: 198 lbs.

This week could be described as how NOT to lose weight. I do have high hopes for Week 3 because things could not get any worse than they did in Week 2.

I haven’t given up my quest. Nope, it hasn’t happened. I’m still here, kicking away at trying to lose some poundage.

As for my lack of writing, I had an “uh-oh” of sorts. To be specific, I thought there was a possibility that I was pregnant and as we all know, the last thing a pregnant woman needs to be concerned with is her obesity. If anything, she knows her waistline will only expand, and rapidly. Unfortunately, I am not pregnant so my quest to lose weight continues.

Yesterday, I finally bought a scale. I have mentioned I hadn’t weighed myself since my last doctor’s appointment this past October. Surprisingly, I hadn’t gained any weight since that appointment (yay!) but my weight is still too high. So, here goes:

Angela’s Weigh-in Week One
195 lbs.

Yikes!

Today, I did work on my activity. I spent the entire day swimming. According to Myfitnesspal.com, I burned 1047 calories this afternoon. NICE! And it was fun. Let’s say that swimming is my favorite physical activity.

I’m back on the wagon!

I’ve never been one to weigh myself. I never look as heavy as I weigh and, just like staring at the clock when you want to leave work, sometimes I think weighing myself constantly is counterproductive.

For that reason, I’m actually unsure how much I weigh. At my last doctor’s appointment in October, I weighed-in at 195 lbs. That was up 40 pounds since my previous weigh-in in August of ‘05 when I tipped the scales at 150.

I don’t think I’ve gained much in the last few months. I’m going to guesstimate my current weight at 210.

I’m going to have to hit up my grandmother’s bathroom scale for a more accurate measure. Stay tuned…

Tonight, I chose to talk a quick walk to the store with my boyfriend instead of driving. It’s very small but something nonetheless.

Yesterday I got in a little walking when trying to view fireworks. Of course, finding a close parking spot wasn’t an option so it was sort of like forced exercise.

I’ve also realized, walking with my boyfriend is GREAT exercise because he walks so fast! He’s not tall and his legs aren’t very long but man can that boy fly. It’s difficult keeping up with him.

I’ve mentioned that I want to blog about my experiences trying to lose some weight. In addition, I’d also like to chronicle my attempt at redefining, redesigning, and refining my financial situation. I have two goals I am starting to work on TODAY.

Goal #1: In October, I will be due for my next annual doctor’s appointment. At last year’s appointment, I was devastated to learn how much weight I had gained since taking my desk job. To prevent that humiliation and shame again, I’ve set a goal to lose 20 lbs before my appointment. I’m not setting the bar too high seeing as I have four months to accomplish this goal.

Goal #2: Completely dissatisfied with job, I know there is only one alternative - finish college. Currently, I owe my school $1700 before I will be able to enroll in new classes. Trying to accomplish this feat by September isn’t feasible with my meager salary so I’m setting my goal for January 2008. That gives me 6 months to save, cut my spending, and pay off the owed tuition.

These are the two most nagging things on my life’s To-Do-List. I’m anticipating that this blog will serve as the motivation to stick it out when I get annoyed, tired, lazy and bored with my transformation. It begins today.
